Deadlifts

It's been a while since I Deadlifted. Today was crazy busy after work but I managed to fit in some pulls.

Rebounding - 30 minutes (6x5 min)

Deadlifts - 225lbs/6 reps, 315lbs/3 reps, 4 sets/1,1,1,2 reps/405lbs.


Nothing heavy but heavier than it's been in a while. No belt, no straps. Just a little chalk. After that a shower then out for dinner with the family.

Rebounding and OH Press

Got home from work then got right to work.

Rebounding - 30 minutes + 30 minutes (6x5 min).

OH Presses - 6 sets/6,6,8,8,10,12 reps/135lbs.

Sit Ups

Got home late from work today. I still wanted to train and take some time to relax.

Rebounding - 35 minutes.

Sit Ups - 2 sets/12 reps, 4 sets/15 reps.

Sit ups were much easier than previous attempts. I guess my core is getting stronger.

Time to eat and relax.

Squats

Work is stressful. My hips and lower back are tight. I really didn't feel like training. After work I pulled my head outta my ass and got to work.

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches.

Squats - bar/10 reps, 135lbs/8 reps, 225lbs/6 reps, 3 sets/4 reps/315lbs.



There's an air quality warning today so I really didn't want to go for a walk/jog. My tight hips and lower back would be worse by rebounding. Tomorrow I'll do more cardio.

Walk

I took Saturday off to spend with my wife and to take a break before pulling the truck today. However, my father fell at the hospital and I had to take my mom to see how he was doing. He's a little sore but nothing serious. Today I had to do something. My only time was after 1700hrs and I wasn't motivated for Squats. Time for a walk.




Glad I went. Tomorrow after work I'll Squat.

NG Bench Press and NG Rows

Busy running around this morning. Got home at noon. That's enough time to train before going to work.

Rebounding - 60 minutes (12x5 min)

NG Bench Press - 135lbs/6,12 reps, 6 sets/6,6,6,8,10,12 reps/225lbs.

NG High Cable Rows - 6 sets/12 reps/60kgs.

Very warm made me very sweaty. Glad I got it done.

FORCE Test Practice

I'm getting closer to passing the Rushes portion of the FORCE test. Today I managed to get 51.23 sec. So close. After that, I practiced a different technique of taking longer strides. I didn't do the full rushes, only portions. It did feel faster and the instructor did concur. On Monday I'll try again. Fingers crossed.
Afterwards I did some situps. 


Feeling good. Time for work.

Squats Plus

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were busy with work, friends and home. The work week was mentally stressfull. I needed a break. Sunday evening I spent laying on the livingroom floor with my legs up on the couch. Like that I did about 6-7 sets of 20 crunches. It didn't seem that difficult but I feel the core tightness today.
This morning I was supposed to try the FORCE test again but a bank appointment ran overtime. That said, I punished myself with training at home.

Rebounding - 30 minutes.

Squats - 2 sets/6 reps/135lbs, 225lbs/6 reps, 315lbs/8 reps.


Walk/Jog - 2km around block.



It is so hot and it rained this morning. Humidity is crazy. The 2km was killer. Now it's time to go to work.

Home from work. Another busy day. Took Mom out for some running around. Now it's time to train.

Light Stretches.

Rebounding - 60 minutes (12x5 min).

Deadlifts - 3 sets/6 reps/230lbs, 3 sets/6 reps/320lbs.


Push Ups - 3 sets/12 reps, 3 sets/15 reps.


Considering I only ate breakfast at around 1100hrs I'm surprised I didn't fall down. Now that I've had dinner I'm feeling really good. Amazing training.

Sit Ups

Right after work I got changed then took my Mom to see my Dad in hospital. He's been there since Canada Day and it looks like he'll be there for a month, or more. He's definately inspiring me to keep active as I get older.

When I finally got home I didn't have much time to train. So, I needed to do something effective. Sit Ups it is.

Rebounding - 30 minutes (6x5min)

Sit Ups - 3 sets/12 reps, 3 sets/14 reps.

Static Lower Body Stretches.

A really good and much needed core work. Awesome!!!

Squats

I guess I've been feeling better lately. More energy and in a better mood. Today after work I started making supper then got to work training.

Rebounding - 30 minutes.

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches.

Kettlebell Swings - 3 sets/12 reps/45lbs.

Squats - bar/6 reps, 135lbs/6 reps, 225lbs/6 reps, 3 sets/2,3,4 reps/325lbs.


Good Morning Stretches - 3 sets/12 reps/bar.


A really good training day. Squat form is on point. Strength could use some work. Good stretch.

STRONGMANIA and Training

Saturday I spent the day helping out at STRONGMANIA in Selkirk at the waterfront. Such an great day. The best place to watch a strongman event is from the event itself, volunteering. It was a busy day. No wonder I felt stiff and sore this morning.




I spent most of the day running around for my family. This evening I had an hour to lift.

Bench Press - 6 sets/6,6,8,8,10,12 reps/225lbs.

Busy Week

Between taking my Mom to visit my Dad in hospital and Op Lentus at work I don't have a spare momment.
On Wednesday I managed a 2km walk/jog around the block. However, no weight training at all so far this week. I did pull a muscle in my left leg on Monday during the FORCE test practice. I guess taking a break won't hurt.
Today my Mom is sick and won't be seeing Dad. This frees up 2 to 3 hours this morning. Time to train.

Rebounding - 60 mimutes (12x5 min)

Axle Clean then Press Reps - 6 sets/6,6,8,8,10,12 reps/115lbs.


Bent Over Axle Rows - 6 sets/10 reps/115lbs.


It's very smokey out. The air quality is terrible. I trained with the garage door closed. Tomorrow I volunteer to help at Strongmania in Selkirk. It's gonna be awesome.
On a side note I took my second shot of TRT yesterday. I don't know if I actually feel something yet or I'm just so excited for a positive change. BW this morning was 349.6lbs.

FORCE Test Practice

Went to the base today to practice the impending FORCE test. However, the PSP staff that organize it weren't there. I did ample warm ups on my own. About 20 minutes of walking around the gym with some sprinting thrown in. I did the Rushes portion of the test and I'm still not quite quick enough. IAW the video I took I guess my time is around 53 seconds.


After that I walked the Rushes focusing on the getting down and up. After that I did several sprint to the first line, walk to the second. It's getting better but I'm still not there. I'll be going twice a week now, again on Thursday. A month to go. Time to get serious.

Walk/Jog

Went out around the block again this morning. I was thinking about a long walk then decided on trying to break my current 1km record. My previous best was 9:22. Today I bettered that by 20 seconds. 9:02. If I would have known how close I was to being under 9 seconds I would have pushed a little harder. Oh well, there's always next time.



Tomorrow I plan on going to the base for the practice force test. Wish me luck I pass on the rushes.

My schedule lately is busy. Driving back and forth to the hospital twice a day is making time scarce. Today I got up at a reasonable hour and got to work.

SSB Squats - bar/10 reps, 4 sets/6 reps/145lbs, 2 sets/10 reps/145lbs.


Push Up Burpees - 6 sets/various push ups and burpees.


Really good today.

Now we gotta go visit Dad.

Life

What a crazy week. July 1st, Canada Day, my father tripped fell down in the driveway. We took him to hospital where he's been since then. He's ok and in a good safe place. A late night and running my Mom back and forth to the hospital has filled up my schedule. Not much time to train eventhough I took several days off work. That said, I've done a little bit.

Inclined Axle Bench Press - 2 sets/12 reps/115lbs, 2 sets/12 reps/165lbs, 2 sets/10,5+2 reps/215lbs, 165lbs/12 reps.


It was really hot and I hit the wall on my last set of 215lbs.

On another note, yesterday I started Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). I post more about it in future posts.
