Rebounding and Nerves

Spent some time this morning with the Thera-gun. Smoothing out some of the tender/tight points. After that spent 45 minutes on the rebounder.

I'm a bit nervous about Saturday. I suppose I get nervous before any competition. That said, I haven't competed since the 2016 World's. That's almost seven year. Crazy. Maybe it's time to pick myself up and shake the dust off. I'll see after Saturday.

Squats

A little bit of maintenance training today. Nothing difficult since I have a competition this Saturday. Just enough to keep the blood flowing.

Rebounding - 10 minutes. 

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches. 

Squats - bar/8 reps, 135lbs/8 reps, 225lbs/8 reps, 2 sets/3 reps/315lbs, 335lbs/2 reps.



BW Squats - 3 sets/12 reps.

Squats have been feeling quite suspect over the last several months. Today they felt amazing. Form was on point and drive was good. Now it's time to rest up and fuel up to get ready for Saturday.

Keg Lift and Trap Bar Deadlifts

Still getting ready for the Strongman competition next week. Today went really well. 

Rebounding - 10 minutes. 

Kettlebell Swings - 20 reps/40lbs.

Trap Bar Deadlifts - 135lbs/12 reps, 235lbs/12 reps, 335lbs/12 reps, 435lbs/4 + 12 reps.



Mixed in and after Deadlifts was Keg Lifts. 

Keg Lifts - 3 sets/3 reps/150lbs.


After all the core work yesterday this training was tough. The 4 + 12 reps were due to straps. Regular straps didn't work very well. Figure 8 straps are awesome. Still feeling really good.

Rebounding and Ab Sling

Pushing my limits a little bit more. I put on a movie and bounced the entire time. With some extra core work. 

Light Stretches. 

Rebounding - 90 minutes. 

Ab Sling Knee Ups - 8 sets/15 reps (1 set every 10 minutes)

My plan for the afternoon and evening is to spend some time with my massager. Feeling pretty good.

Log Lift and Rebounding

Another good day of training. 

Rebounding - 10 minutes. 

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches. 

Log Lifts - 1 clean/12 presses/80lbs, 1 clean/8 presses/120lbs, 1 clean/6 presses/160lbs, 6 clean and press/160lbs.



I started to do some Bench Press but decided to bounce instead. 

Rebounding - 70 minutes. 



WRT another topic. My left elbow and lower back have been bothering me as of late. Last week I went to the Dr and got xrays. Today the Dr informed me that I have arthritis. Everything else looks good. I guess that's good news.

SSB Squats, Heavy Hold, Keg Lift

In an effort to group some of the events together to prepare for the Strongman competition I added a few keg lifts at the end of Squats. 

Rebounding - 10 minutes. 

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches. 

SSB Squats - bar/6 reps, 148lbs/6 reps, 198lbs/6 reps, 238lbs/6 reps, 288lbs/3 reps, 338lbs/1 rep, 348lbs/1 rep, 348lbs/1 rep.



SS. Heavy Hold - 418lbs/75 sec, 513lbs/75 sec.

Keg Lift - 3 reps/150lbs.

A good training day. Squat seem to be slightly coming back. All the weights moved well.

Trap Bar Pulls and Keg Lift

Keg Over Bar - 150lbs/52 inches/3 reps.


Lots of fun tonight. Nothing was overly heavy. Getting ready for the Strongman competition 1st April.

Log Press and Inclined Bench Press

A really good training day. Doing some running around this morning meant I had just the afternoon to get the work done. Today I started with the Log.

Log Press - 80lbs/6 reps, 150lbs/8 reps, 5 sets/1 clean 3 presses/150lbs (1 minute rest between the five sets)


Inclined Bench Press - 135lbs/12 reps, 185lbs/8 reps, 235lbs/6 + 3,3,3 reps.


Feeling good.

Squats

I didn't train yesterday. I  wanted to enjoy some pizza and beer. However, in the late afternoon I got the snowblower out and managed a bunch more steps and 89 minutes of elevated heart rate. 


Today I have a bunch of house work to do. I'm still gonna get some training done. 

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches. 

Squats - 2 sets/6 reps/bar, 2 sets/6 reps/135lbs, 225lbs/6 reps, 315lbs/1,2,2,2 reps.


SSB Squats - bar/6 reps, 3 sets/6 reps/148lbs.

Static Stretches. 

My back is suspect today and I don't feel like an injury. That said, I'm still happy about training today

100k Steps

I made a goal for myself to surpass 100,000 steps total this week. I got a good amount of steps at work but still had to get about 9,000 steps after I got home. Thanks to 1.5hrs on the rebounder I was able to complete my goal.

Rebounding Keg

Very short on time after work today to train. However, I feel that I made the most of the time I had. 

Repeat the following 4 times. 

Rebounding - 10 minutes. 

Keg Lift and walk in place - 3 lifts with 20 steps each Lift.

Great work capacity training. Great practice for the Keg over bar event coming up.

Inclined Bench Press and Log Press

I've been feeling off my game lately. Not doing the log press charity event has thrown me a curve ball. I have never signed up for a competition and not do it. I guess it was inevitable and it was bound to happen eventually. Oh well, time to get back to work. I've got a Strongman competition coming up 1 April and I don't want to miss it. 

Light Stretches. 

Inclined Bench Press - 3 sets/12 reps/bar, 135lbs/12 reps, 155lbs/8 reps, 175lbs/6 reps, 195lbs/6 reps, 225lbs/8 reps.

Log Press - 80lbs/6 reps, 120lbs/6 reps, 2 sets/2 reps/180lbs.


I stopped with log there as I was starting to feel a bit drained and was losing my balance. Better safe than sorry. Anyway, there was improvement in both lifts today. Next time I'll start with log.
 

This afternoon I got onto my rebounder. I had lots of fun getting over my 10,500 step goal. It took me 75 minutes. 

I also spent some time sitting on a heating pad in an effort to put an end to my morning hip pain. If it is a nerve hopefully this will settle it down. Otherwise I feel great.

Rebounding

SSB Squats today. Rebounding fat burning this evening. 75 minutes managed to bring me to 10,500 steps for the day. Lots of Stretches to finish up.

Something a little different today. I'm glad I got out the Safety Squat Bar. These felt really good.

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches. 

SSB Squats - 3 sets/6 reps/bar, 3 sets/6 reps/150lbs, 2 sets/1 rep/200lbs, 240lbs/1 rep, 290lbs/1 rep, 3 sets/1 rep/330lbs.



This evening I'm gonna spend some time on the rebounder.

Even More Rebounding

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy rebounding? Of course I have.

Friday, Saturday and today I bounced. I was supposed to do a Charity Max Log Press event. However, my right elbow was bothering me so I made a mature decision and pulled out. So, bouncing I did.

Today I worked and managed 15,000 steps. With that many steps completed I wanted to double my daily step goal. Goal complete!


Every 10 minutes I did 15 push ups. Tomorrow it's time to get under a bar.

Field Trip

Yesterday I trained at the Brickhouse gym. I wanted to try the actual implements that will be used in a Strongman competition. I went with a friend who trains there regularly. 

Leg Swings and Dynamic Stretches. 

Squats - bar/8 reps, 135lbs/8 reps.

Frame Deadlift - frame/6 reps, 90lbs/6 reps, 200lbs/6 reps, 305lbs/6 reps, 410lbs/6 reps.

Not overly difficult. I felt I could do at least twelve reps with this weight. Or, easily gone up in weight. This implement feels very good.

Log Lift - 90lbs/4 reps, 140lbs/4 reps, 190lbs/1+1 reps, 210lbs/near miss.

The log rolled nicely at 210lbs. I'm still having trouble committing to the press. Hopefully it comes together this weekend. 

Keg Over Bar - 100lbs/easily over, 180lbs/a little trouble,  180lbs/no problem.

I also got under the empty yoke. Still there's time to try it properly. This Saturday is the Max Log Press. I plan on opening with 180lbs. I'll see how I feel after that.

Today I worked strictly cardio. Time to bounce!
